The Runway Foundation

Are you able to help children / youth who are struggling along their ADHD journey? The Runway Foundation are seeking donations/sponsorships.

Auckland

The ADDventurers initiative, was founded in 2016, under The Runway Foundation, to support families and schools with the challenges of ADHD. Five years on, the not-for-profit ADDventurers initiative, provides specialised, small group Kids-Clubs for ADHD children, to support them with their development and social skills. Once graduated from ADDventurers Kids Club, the students enter into the ADDventurers Youth Coach Programme where they are given individual and group mentoring support during their time at secondary school.

The motto of ADDventurers is: ‘Belonging, Opportunity, Success’, and their mission is to provide a place where students with ADHD can be understood and celebrated. ADDventurers also provides support groups for the parents, where parents of ADHD children can share advice, knowledge, experience, friendship and fun; with others who understand and care.

Who are The Runway Foundation?

The Runway Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organisation who are here to support the vulnerable or those facing challenging circumstances in our Franklin region. Two of their key current initiatives are:

1. ADHD Support through ADDventurers

2. Community Crisis Support, for those suddenly facing challenging circumstances such as

sickness or redundancy.

The Runway Foundation relies on private funding, student sponsorship & donations to run their initiatives and are not Government funded; and therefore, as a not-for-profit we rely 100% on the kindness and generosity of our community friends, families and businesses, and we are sincerely appreciative of all support given - large and small. We are not Government funded.

The annual cost of ADHD support per student, excluding administration & overheads is:

$2800 per senior student enrolled in the ADDventurers youth coach programme

$1,900 per junior student enrolled in the ADDventurers Kids Club programme

This includes the provision of a Youth Coach, Teacher, Counsellor and the foundational activity expenses of the programme.

Once the students are on the programme, we journey with them providing advocacy and support throughout their primary & secondary school years, helping them to self-manage, discover their career pathways, reach their goals, and thrive. They do not come off the programme until they are ready to do so.  Once on the programme we are committed to their ongoing care and success.

Our goal is to provide sponsorship for all students with ADHD who need this programme in our district, so that they all have equal opportunity to this life-changing support.

The Runway Foundation is based in Pukekohe, operating from ‘Runway House’ in Glasgow Road. Here they have a small team currently consisting of a Youth Worker, Kids Club Manager, CEO, Administrator, Volunteers, plus an independent Counsellor. This team (mostly made up of part-timers and volunteers), work together complimenting each other’s strengths, to provide services that help individuals and families who are struggling – either with challenging circumstances, or with their ADHD journey.

They create a place where amazing children and youth who have ADHD, can walk with their heads held high, are accepted and can be themselves, while discovering and working towards their dreams – hence the name Runway (they get them onto the runway and help them gain the momentum they need to fly).

Runway are experiencing increased demand for their services, and therefore, if anyone would like to know more, subscribe, offer a donation or to sponsor a child / youth on their ADDventurers ADHD programmes, please contact the foundation through their website: www.therunwayfoundation.org.
